    The CIDA Empowerment Trust's long term goal of sustainable bursary provision is accomplished through donations to the CIDA Empowerment Fund (Pty) Ltd where funds are prudently invested in high yielding investment vehicles, accountably managed, with 90% of income generated distributed toward bursaries, scholarships and student support.

    Capital Investment of the CIDA Empowerment Fund (Pty) Ltd

    Two primary ways that the CIDA Empowerment Fund (Pty) Ltd acquires investment capital:

    • The CIDA Empowerment Fund Pty Ltd can invest to acquire shares in strategic companies as a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment The Trustees constantly seek additional BBBEE investment opportunities to add to their investment portfolio.
    • To that end, the CIDA Empowerment Fund Pty Ltd seeks contributions, pledges and endowments from donors looking to invest in education, who understand the transformative power of empowering young people with education.

    Investment in CIDA provides hope for deserving students who desire to pursue university-level teacher development programmes, but simply cannot afford to do so.

    Since inception, CIDA has been empowered to provide educational support to over 1000 deserving students, who have become positive, contributing members of society.

    CIDA Empowerment Fund Pty Ltd will continue to seek BBBEE shareholding in strategic companies, as well as donations and endowments from those individuals and companies who understand that investment in education is investment in the stability and growth of our society as a whole.
